Major labels weren’t going to sign the music The Furys were writing. So they started their own label, Double R Records, with manager Michael Compton — and blazed a trail in the indie movement.
Double R released the first Furys single in June 1977: “Hey Ma,” backed with “Jim Stark Dark.” The 500-copy first pressing sold out within a week, and the band re-released it.
Both songs are on New Wave Hit Parade.
